A life-long Episcopalian, Cathy began hearing a call to Something in middle school. The Something shape-shifted over the years (lay professional, clergy spouse, mother) including more than 15 years of holy orders discernment in four dioceses. She has long been sustained by small-group fellowship, contemplative practices, retreats, and writing. A move to Austin made the path to seminary and ordination possible. Cathy served at St. John’s, St. David’s, and Trinity Episcopal School (all in Austin), as well as Trinity, Marble Falls. Her husband, the Rev. David Boyd, served as rector of St. David’s. In 2022 Cathy retired as rector of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Williamsburg VA. Cathy and David are now discerning God’s call in retirement and living in Easton MA. They have two superb grown children.
