Sometimes, “Old” testament is taken to mean “expired” or “retired” testament. In reality, the New Testament writers were quite comfortable standing “under the authority of those Old Testament documents” (G.K. Beale & D.A. Carson), frequently turning to them for inspiration and interpretation. This group will explore a few of the ways that the Old Testament is utilized by New Testament writers. We will walk with one foot in each testament and see how these two collections of scriptures are inextricably linked.
